About Le Festival Provençal des Orchestres de Jeunes

The Provencal Festival was born in 2005 as a sister festival to the International Festival of European Youth Orchestras (Florence) and following a collaboration between Accademia San Felice Ltd and the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Mediterrannée (OJMED). Now in its 13th year, the Festival has hosted over 2000 young musicians representing Canada, USA, UK & Ireland, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, Latvia, Estonia, Australia, France, Israel, Norway, Brasil and Denmark. Youth, student and amateur orchestras from all over the world are welcome to participate, and each year the Festival is able to host a guest choir and band also in specially selected venues.

"Venues include some of the most beautiful and iconic locations of the region."

The Festival is based in the magnificent Cathédrale de St Sauveur, Aix-en-Provence with further concerts being organised for participating ensembles in La Ciotat, Arles, Cannes, Tarascon, Aigues-Mortes, Villefranche-sur-Mer and Menton and many others throughout the PACA region. Venues include main squares, theatres, churches, cathedrals, castles, abbeys and open-air amphitheatres in some of the most beautiful and iconic locations of the region.
